ARTIST'S BIOGRAPHY Samantha Barrie began working as a professional artist in the early 1970's. Because of the style of her work, she has been called both a "colorist" and a "layerist. Her art, whether on canvas or paper, is a unified body of work dealing with layers of shapes, colors, and textures. By layering the colors and shapes, the work takes on a tactile and visual sensuality. Lush colors, shadowy transparent layers and a sense of emotion and drama distinguish her work. Samantha does both corporate and residential work, specializing in large canvases.
